The Streets Are Alive

I’ve never seen the city of Vancouver so alive and full of excitement.. As I was driving home just now, horns were honking, people were cheering and you could see Canadian flags everywhere.  Earlier on this afternoon strangers on the streets were running up to each other and exchanging high fives, hugging each other and cheering for the Gold Medal Men’s Hockey game where canada won 3/2 over the US.  A part of me felt so proud but also too I felt very sad for the American players who won the silver medals.  Going back home to their country won’t quite feel the same.  A lot of those hockey players though are still young and this will only toughen them up for the next time they appear on Olympic ice.

Today was a hard day on the humidor.. I smoked a Montecristo No. 4, A cohiba Robusto and two Partagas Series D No. 4’s…. Days like this in our city are special.. The Olympics have been a very exciting 2 weeks for us and I, for one, am very sad that it had to come to an end……… Oh well, a quick shower, another visit to the humidor and then maybe just a few more hours downtown Vancouver…….
