Cohiba Robusto, A personal Favorite

You simply can’t go wrong whenever you open your humidor and pick the Cohiba Robusto as a companion to your hour and a half of contemplation after a satisfying dinner with friends or family.  Last night after a dinner of strong flavors such as lamb, mint, garlic and a fine glass of red wine I thought that the Cohiba Robusto would be the finest choice as an after dinner cigar.

Another reason why I picked this bombshell of flavors was that the weather in the back yard was perfect because of no wind and warm temperatures.  Funny but as the years go by and I smoke more and more of these Robustos, I find that they are not exactly the same in profile.  One thing that I’ve come to expect is the grassy start in the first third but, depending on the age of the cigar, you can run into smooth coffees and chocolate flavors or you can have all of that mixed with fine fruity flavors.

I believe that my Robusto last night was a bit more aged and the fruit wasn’t as predominate.  All of that was replaced with more of an old school taste with leathers and coffees coming through.  All in all it was a great experience and one that I’m looking forward to repeating as soon as the mood strikes me!
