The initial tasting of this powerful cigar at the Habanos Festival in Havana in February of 2011 was met with huge and generous reports from all who had participated.  Later on in the year when this cigar was finally released to the public, we all had the chance to taste for ourselves what all of the excitement was about and the cigar delivered even more than anticipated.

Think back to the legendary Cohiba Sublime released in 2004 and you'll get an idea of the depth of flavours awaiting you.  Dark and rich chocolate comes to the forefront accompanied with notes of espresso and incredible leather and woods.  Clip the pigtail cap and get ready for almost 2 hours of smoking time, a rather sizeable commitment but for those who want to taste the best that Cuba had to offer in 2011.  Boxes will surely be stored in humidors world wide and saved by those who know that another legend is in the making.

This re-release of the 2001 Edicion Limitada Piramid was hugely anticipated. The 2006 Cohiba Piramid is described by Habanos S.A with a little note in the box stating: Habanos S.A. celebrates the 5th Anniversary of the Limited Editions with this selection of 10 Cohiba Piramides. A set of 10 torpedo-shaped Habanos (ring gauge 52 and 156 mm in the length), Totally Hand-made with carefully selected wrapper leaves which have been aged for 2 years. This cigar is everything you want in a Cohiba.

The Piramide is full-bodied, spicy, with dark chocolate overtones. As with most Cohibas, there are few subtleties, but you can taste hints of paprika and chili.

This torpedo introduced in 2008 has come a long long way in only a handful of years.  Initially rolled with tobacco aged a minimum of two years and given more time to age since 2008 has resulted in a cigar that collectors guard carefully in their humidors.

Limited Edition from 2012

A lively cigar that has been H. Upmann's leading shape shifter since the day it was rolled.  2009 saw the release of this Maduro style cigar and in it's first year of life it was a bomb of sweetness and dried plums that evolved as it burned into a fruity sweet chocolate experience.

Very very unique and easy to smoke.  One year later and the sweetness and some of the fruit remains but then leather and woods creep into the flavour profile.  Two years later and now the cigar is performing like a circus strongman with bulging muscle and exotic fragrance.  A shining star in the Upmann line that builds a following of loyal fans as days go by.

This very well constructed 2007 Edicion Limitada for Hoyo de Monterrey has been described as a cigar that has many unusual flavour characteristics for those who are familiar with this brand.

Great care was taken to introduce a unique smoking experience which reveals chocolate and loads of coffee.  Expect a bit more strength than the Petit Robustos but be prepared for clouds of aromatic smoke in the room without any detection of harshness in the flavour profile.  Popular opinion in 2007 was that these cigars needed a few years of aging, as time went by these same smokers became extremely satisfied with it's evolution in their humidors as they witnessed this cigar become a Cuban classic.

This figurado, which comes dressed in a slightly darker wrapper coming from the top leaves of the Tapado-shade grown black Cuban tobacco plant, will be perfect for someone wanting to experience a slightly milder special occasion cigar.

Newcomers will notice an easy and smooth smoking experience of high quality tobacco picked from the Vuelta Abajo region of cuba and aged a minimum of two years.  The usual Hoyo de Monterrey flavour profile is tamed down but still complex and enticing in its delivery.  A few years of aging will no doubt reveal another classic from Hoyo de Monterrey.

2012 Limited Edition

Get ready for two hours plus of elegant smoking time with Montecristo's Edicion Limitada for 2010.  Perfect construction, dark wrapper and a cigar that feels great to hold and enjoy.

Expect a bit of spice in the opening third but be prepared for an evolution of flavours as you start to detect sweetness creep into the picture as the cigar slowly burns.  Cedar appears, as does sweet chocolate spiced with honey that leaves a long finish on the palate.  As we approach 2013, the Grand Edmundo will be in it's prime and ready to dazzle with rich boldness.

Habanos S.A. included a certificate in each box stating: To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Limited Editions, Habanos S.A. offers you this selection of Montecristo Robustos (ring gauge 50 and 124mm in length), the most demanding vitola within Habanos portfolio. 25 Habanos, Totally Hand-made with carefully selected wrapper leaves which have been aged for 2 years. The Montecristo Robusto is comparable to the No. 2, but with a smoother finish. Coffee and cream are the most notable flavors tasted whilst smoking this beautiful Habanos. Vancouver Cigar only has 2 of these limited edition cigars left.

This was only the second time in Cuban cigar history that the 'Sublimes' size was introduced. The first time was for the Cohiba brand, in 2008, it was the Montecristo. The Montecristo Sublimes are rich in flavor as only the finest of the Montecristo blend was used in constructing and producing these cigars. The blend itself was aged for three years - These Montecristo Sublimes are a treat indeed.

Because of the success of the Serie D line, Partagas was chosen to release a Edicion Limitada for 2010.
