This re-release of the 2001 Edicion Limitada Piramid was hugely anticipated. The 2006 Cohiba Piramid is described by Habanos S.A with a little note in the box stating: Habanos S.A. celebrates the 5th Anniversary of the Limited Editions with this selection of 10 Cohiba Piramides. A set of 10 torpedo-shaped Habanos (ring gauge 52 and 156 mm in the length), Totally Hand-made with carefully selected wrapper leaves which have been aged for 2 years. This cigar is everything you want in a Cohiba.

The Piramide is full-bodied, spicy, with dark chocolate overtones. As with most Cohibas, there are few subtleties, but you can taste hints of paprika and chili.

This has been the finest Robusto out of Cuba since it was introduced in 1989, plain and simple. Initially you'll be impressed with the caramel coloured wrapper, triple cap and construction; much care is taken to blend and roll this Robusto and it is a remarkably consistent cigar.

This, the smallest of the Maduro 5 Series introduced in 2007, comes with a wrapper aged for 5 years. The dark wrapper gives this small cigar richness and, to a degree, flavors reminiscent of the notes which are present in the rarely rolled and distributed Cohiba Limited Edition cigars.

Expect close to an hour of smoking time beginning with a sweet dark coffee and ending with mocha and toasted tobacco. The Cohiba spice is present in the Maduro 5 series though not as pronounced as in the "Linea Clasica".

This is not a meek and mild cigar in the Cohiba Siglo Series. A regular firecracker but, along with all its attitude, the Siglo I has a balanced blend of flavors from a pleasant grassiness to a caramel, woody, black pepper finish.

A slightly milder version of the Cohiba Robustos, this Corona Gorda is nutty, creamy and full of earthiness. Originally released in 2002 as part of the 10th Anniversary of the Linea 1942 or Siglo line, the Siglo VI was the first Cohiba to feature the new Gold embossed lettering on the Cohiba label.

The Siglo VI paved the way for a demand in larger, thicker cigars which we now see in the Trinidad Robusto Extra and the H.Upmann Magnum 50.  At 5 7/8" X 52 this cigar takes some commitment.  The smoke is generally characterized by a full, not quite dark-chocolate taste. As with cigars of this girth, the Siglo VI intensifies as you smoke it down to it's strong end.  The finish reminds me of peaty Isla scotch's like Talisker, a real treat if you love all-encompassing flavor.

The Diplomaticos No. 2 is the most popular of the brand. Similar to the Montecristo No. 2, these Diplomaticos are medium to full in flavor, and do not have any bitter aftertaste. You will taste a base of cedary wood, and spikes of cinnamon and vanilla throughout the smoke. Because of its girth, the Diplomatico No. 2 does get pleasantly stronger near the end.

Considered by most to be the mildest Cuban brand, Fonseca introduces their hand-finished Fonseca Delicias.

The Delicias tastes of smooth earthiness with a slight sweetness of rum. Though quite mild, the distinct characteristics of Cuban tobacco are still present, most notably in the complexity of the smooth flavor. There is absolutely no bitter aftertaste which can be present in some comparable Dominican cigars.

The H.Upmann Magnum 46 is a delicious medium-bodied cigar from one of Cuba's classic brands.  This traditional Corona Gorda-sized cigar last about 45 minutes and burns at a medium pace.  The flavors are a little milder than it's larger counterpart, the H.Upmann Sir Winston, but similar with an overall cedary earthiness.  Silght coffee hints round out the flavor of the Magnum 46.

A very consistent Cuban cigar of medium size and a daily smoke for many veteran cigar lovers.  Expect to taste dried fruits like plums, figs and honey when this cigar is young.  Age for a few years and the honey is still present but bean flavours of dark chocolate and espresso can appear.

Those who choose this local brand are often surprised at the quality and complexity delivered and become devoted followers and die hard fans.

The San Cristobal La Fuerza is a smooth, medium bodied Cuban cigar that gets fuller as you smoke it down.  It has flavors reminiscent of Montecristo's nuttiness, and of Romeo Y Julieta's sharper sweetness.

The La Fuerza is a great size, basically a long robusto at 5 1/2" x 50.

La Punta, a five and a half inch medium strength cigar from San Cristobal de la Habana is also the name of a fortress located on the northwest tip of old Havana.  Construction began in 1590 and being located in a very strategic location, helped protect the city for centuries.

This Campanas, just a bit shorter than a Piramides, is a figurado starting out being full of spice, nutmeg and slight notes of black pepper then in the second third reveals a sweet coffee with cedar and finally ending int the final third with leather and exotic cedar.  Very beautiful torpedo shaped cigar with a medium strength body.

The Sancho Panza Belicoso is quite unique, though it is full-bodied, it smokes very smooth and without harshness.

The flavors are reminiscent of the smoother of the Partagas cigars.  Peppery and spicy, with undertones of chili and paprika, this Belicoso gets warmer as you smoke it down but doesn't overwhelm.  The Sancho Panza brand is less frequented, but always enjoyed and a true hidden gem to the Cuban cigar enthusiasts.

The Trinidad Robusto Extra embodies the classic Trinidad smooth, lighter Cuban flavor but, being a mightier size than Coloniales or even the Fundadores, the Robusto Extra becomes fuller as you smoke it down.

With lighter flavors like coconut and cashew nuttiness, the Trinidad Robusto Extra is a nice treat after a lighter meal.  It pairs well with a white wine, or lighter scotch like Dalwhinnie. It develops into a more burnt almond taste that is very pleasing near the end.

The new Trinidad Robusto T incorporates Trinidad's smooth, creamy flavor with the cigar world's most popular size, the Robusto.

Vegas Robaina is one of Cuba's smaller brands, and as such benefits from better attention to detail, perfect construction, and consistent blending.  The Vegas Robaina Unico smokes very similar to the Montecristo No. 2, but with a taste more of Almond nuttiness.  It is a smooth, medium-bodied smoke, that gets more intense as you smoke it down to the end.
